Her lips were as soft as the silky petals
Of all the roses in the meadow,
And her body swayed as graceful as
The flurries of the winter snow.
When I left her, my tears
Watered the meadow green.
All the days can pass, but this king
Will not find another queen.

Aawww this was beautiful, thanknyou Jade.
Thank you for reading and leaving a wonderful comment ^_^
My pleasure indeed Jade.
Ahhh, lovely poem! And an excellent ‘reply’ to the poor maiden queen from A Simple Crown. I have a fondness for songs (eg, Scarborough Fair) and poems, I guess, which can be performed as a duet, or which offer two sides to a subject. Thanks for the shout-out and for telling the story from the other side! 🙂
Ahh me too! I also love seeing both sides. When I read “A Simple Crown” the first thing that popped into my head was the king and where he was and what he was thinking. I was hoping you would like my little interpretation of it 🙂 We work well together I think, TUS!
Awww
🙂 <3
soft words from a noble heart – you wrote him in such sadness I hope he finds someone to mend his heart.
Thank you dear Gina, I hope he finds his happiness as well 🙂
The fact that you were able to write a beautiful poem in response to an already beautifully written poem is commendable..top it off with another fact that even in reality we all mourn and grieve over the loss of a loved one.
Thanks so much! Yes, it’s true, we all mourn and grieve over loved ones…but I hope we all are able to find our happiness one day 🙂
This is too beautiful!
Thank you! Glad you feel that way 😀
and that last line: “uuhhhhhhuuuuuuuuhhhhhhh”

You are welcome.
Reblogged this on The Reluctant Poet.
Tragically ✨ Beautiful 😭 Thank You
And the sad reality is that once we’ve lost something great we build up walls because now nothing measures up, maybe having nothing to compare with is better and sulking is but all we do and never allowing the possibility of a new queen.
Yes, it is true that sometimes, to protect ourselves after a great loss, we build up walls to prevent other people from coming in and to prevent more loss, but unfortunately that also means we block out the possibility of more love.
Thank you for reading 🙂
A wonderful poem, but I truly hope it’s wrong and that I do find another queen.
I think whether or not you find another queen is up to you 🙂
