[Poetry] Coming Home

In the dark, I followed the stars,
Twinkling steadily and kindly,
Lighting the path to a place so far,
To a place waiting patiently for me.

Twinkling steadily and kindly,
The stars guide me as I make my way
To a place waiting patiently for me,
I know I am meant to arrive one day.

The stars guide me as I make my way,
Though I may stumble from time to time,
I know I am meant to arrive one day,
This journey and its obstacles are solely mine.

Though I may stumble from time to time,
I will never give up hope.
This journey and its obstacles are solely mine,
The stars will guide me home.

My very first pantoum! A poetry form that originated in Malaysia, this pantoum was challenging to write, but I hope I did it right.

  1. no not late at all! the prompt is open a month long so poets can perfect the form. this was wonderful Jade, your pantoum sang back and forth and came full circle, your first and last line though not identical echo the same meaning perfectly, well done, the rhymes are gentle and soft like waves lapping at the heart. i also love the journey of life you write about, you own it and make it worthy. love it! more please!!

    • Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the poem and I’m glad that line was empowering to you. I appreciate the read and comment, and hope you have a wonderful day ^_^

  2. This is a reflective poem, Jade. When we’re lost or finding our way, we always look for guidance. The stars are so beautifuly yet so mysterious above us – infinite stars above, infinite possibilities.

    • Yes, there is so much inspiration and guidance to be found in the stars and in the nature around us, infinite possibilities indeed. Thank you for reading and leaving such an insightful comment.
