A chilly breeze plucked a white petal off the tulip sitting at the open window.
He loves me.
A second plucked petal floated with the breeze before coming to a rest on the damp soil.
He loves me not.
The flowerpot trembled as a stronger wind burst through the window panes, scattering petals in the air.
He broke my heart.
A thunderous gust flung the flowerpot across the room, shattered the clay and showered the floor with soil.
So I’ll break everything he’s got.

Revised and rewritten. I’ve been revisiting my older poetry and writings lately, since it’s been hard to focus on writing something new. How’s everyone else doing today?
Sweet vengeancy goodness. I like it! And yes, ‘vengeancy’ is a perfectly fine and totally real word.
Haha! Vengeancy…it does have a nice ring to it. I approve π
Thanks TUS!
Haha I loved this – the way you spun her story out of white petals and broken needles! Break my heart – I break your plant and pot!
Hehe thanks Gina π A woman scorned and all, eh?
I like the revenge part – well in writing only – I am a timid mouse and would probably be watering all his plants – which I did for a long time – till he came and took it all back! Fab story!
There’s a lioness in all of us, my friend π
I loved this! The subtle poetry in the background. Nicely executed piece, Jade! π
Ahh you caught the poetry! I’m so glad you noticed it Shaun π Thanks for reading!
Yeah, git ‘im!
Oops! I didn’t mean this as a reply – I was on my phone and misclicked when trying to make a standalone comment. T_T
Haha, it’s okay!
Lovely imagery with the petals, and then the brutality of the broken flowerpot. Nicelly done.
Thank you π I appreciate the read and comment!

Thanks Iain! And you got that right haha!
Powerful. You packed a lot of punch into a small space. I love your quote from Cyril Connolly, too. βBetter to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”
I agree!
Thank you for reading! I’m glad you liked the quote. It’s definitely a quote that keeps me on the right path π

just wondering what would she do when he comes with a bouquet of red roses. π
Oooh, that’s an ending I don’t think she sees coming, so I wonder myself π
I like the positivity of the ending. Even a desire for revenge indicates some degree of positivity. π Nicely done.
Thank you Sandra! Yes, a little positivity can be found in just about any situation π
