A flickering candle still casts light.
A lonesome star still shines at night.
“And I will fight with all my might,
For I am resilient,” whispered my heart.
“All I need is a place to start.“

This is not a poem.
Where do I find the words
To convey the shock,
The stillness of the air,
The fading of the sounds,
As I read the news that she is gone.
“Why does it always rain in September?” you ask me.
I breathe in the chilly breeze
As I walk over tree roots.
I listen to the crunchy leaves
Below my heavy boots.
It is easy to look at our humanity
And see all the ways it is cruel.
Sometimes,
We are blessed to have someone
With quiet strength and unquestionable courage,
With the grace of a king and the will of a warrior,
To remind us of all the ways
Our humanity is not yet lost.
We waltzed past the milky way
As meteors passed us by.
We twirled beside constellations
That lit up the onyx sky.
We followed the moonlight
That guided us to each other,
And in this moment before dawn,
We will dance forever.

A pink-haired fairy
Bursting with glitter flutters
Past my path today.
She stops a moment
To eat and drink with a friend
And we talk all day.Read More »
In the dark, I followed the stars,
Twinkling steadily and kindly,
Lighting the path to a place so far,
To a place waiting patiently for me.
Twinkling steadily and kindly,
The stars guide me as I make my way
To a place waiting patiently for me,
I know I am meant to arrive one day.Read More »
I do not fear the chill of Winter,
Not its fingers blue and cold
Nor my breath frozen in their hold.
I do not fear the dark of Winter,
Not its suffocating shadow
Nor the voices whispering just below.Read More »
“Be brave with me,” he whispered.
His eyes pleaded with mine.
“We keep dancing around each other,
Let’s not waste any more time.”
With a hand cupping my cheek,
He pulled me in for a kiss.
That was when I discovered
The meaning of bliss.

The love is for all those whose hearts
Are tough from being torn apart
By heartbreak’s touch, by betrayal’s agony,
And are too scared to once again start.
The strength is for all those whose nights
Are full of terrors and invisible frights,
Who spend their days enduring silently
To stay alive in an endless fight.
